Do I need a permit for a fence?
A permit is needed for zoning purposes. A permit application will need to be filled out and a plot plan submitted. There isn't a charge for this permit.
Do I need a permit for installing siding, shingles or windows?
Yes, a maintenance permit needs to be filled out for ordinary repair and maintenance. There is no charge for this permit.
- A fee will be charged for re-roofing if you find a damaged rafter or truss that needs to be replaced.
- A fee will be charged for window replacement if a new opening is created or an existing opening is enlarged.Replacement windows will not be charged if the size of the window opening is not changing.
What is a plot plan?
A plot plan is a layout of the property showing all buildings, the proposed construction and the distances between buildings and the proposed construction. The plot plan also needs to show the distances from the proposed construction to each property line. A swimming pool is treated as an accessory structure for the plot plan.
