Cabaret Licensing Information

A "cabaret license" is needed anyplace, indoors or outdoors, where there is entertainment and/or dancing, whether or not it is offered in connection with the serving or selling of food, and/or refreshments, alcoholic or non-alcoholic.

The need for a cabaret does not apply to private gatherings at residences where no sale of food and/or beverages occurs, and where no admission is charged of any kind, nor is it intended for activities at a church building, when the church has given its approval for such functions.

The license fee for a Limited Cabaret (less than six dates per calendar year) is $92.50. The license fee for an Annual Cabaret (more than six dates per license year) is $380. An Annual Cabaret expires on February 1st of each year.

For detailed information about Cabaret Licenses, please refer to the DeWitt City Code, Chapter 6, Article II.
