Large Item Pick-up Program (see item prices)

Items must be streetside by 7:00 A.M.

Each spring and fall the City sponsors a streetside large item pick-up program. The purpose of the program is to remove large unwanted items that are typically not removed during the weekly household trash program.

  • A pre-paid tag must be purchased at City Hall and placed on some large items in order for them to be removed. Items that are not removed as part of this program include paint cans and building debris.

Dates for this pick-up program and fees for tags are announced on this web site and in the DeWitt-Bath Review.

Spring and Fall Brush Pick-up Program

Brush must be streetside no later than 7:00 A.M.

Each spring and fall the City sponsors a street-side brush pick-up program. The purpose of this program is to remove brush that is too large to be removed as part of the weekly yard waste-composting program.

  • Brush is required to be placed by the curbside, neatly stacked, with the large end towards the street. Brush between 2" and 8" in diameter is accepted. Shrubs with roots still attached are not accepted.
  • The City asks that you leave brush in as large of pieces as possible so that it can be safely fed into the brush chipper by City employees.

Dates for this pick-up program are announced on this web site and in the DeWitt-Bath Review.

Fall Leaf Pick-up Program

Each fall the City conducts a citywide leaf pick-up program. Leaves are to be placed unbagged at the street side by 7:00 a.m. on the Monday of the scheduled week for pick-up. Items such as garden trash, lake leaves, boards, sticks, rocks and other items that would prevent the leaf vacuum from easily sucking up leaves cannot be placed in the leaf piles. Due to safety concerns, leaves are prohibited from being placed in the street. Bagged leaves will not be removed.
