Tree Commission
Cable & Technology Commission
The Cable & Technology Commission consists of six members, one of whom is a member of the City Council. The term of each member is three years. The Commission has the following functions:
- Recommend general policy relating to access channels with a view toward maximizing the diversity of programs and services to the subscribers.
- Encourage and supervise interconnection of systems.
- Advise on the regulation of rates and make recommendations on requested changes in rates, services and classifications.
- Make other recommendations to the City Council concerning resolutions of disputes between the cable provider, subscribers and others.
- Advise the City Council on matters that might constitute grounds for revocation of the franchise.
- Monitors the City's website.
- The City's WITT Channel is on Channel 12 for Comcast subscribers and on Channel 21 for WBI Subscribers.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission consists of nine members, one of whom is a member of the City Council. The term of each member is three years. The Commission has the following functions:
- To make and adopt a comprehensive development plan for the future physical development of the City.
- To recommend appropriate regulations and the boundaries of districts or zones.
- To make recommendations to the City Council, to public officials, and to citizens regarding all matters relating to the planning and development of the City.

The Local Officers Compensation Commission
The Local Officers Compensation Commission is created for the purpose of determining the salaries of all local elected officials for the City. This Commission consists of five members who are registered electors of the City. Each Commissioner is appointed to a five-year term.

Parks, Recreation and Cemetery Commission
The Park, Recreation & Cemetery Commission consists of five members who serve three-year terms. The Commission has the following functions:
- To develop a broad variety of programs, facilities and services.
- To inform and update the public on the purposes of and needs for parks and recreational programs, as well as the cemetery facilities.
- To coordinate opportunities for the public to be involved in the planning and development of the City's parks, recreational programs and cemetery.
- To seek out and plan the use of financial resources needed to enhance and expand the existing park system, recreational programs and cemetery.
- To act as a liaison and coordinate with other agencies.
- To evaluate the Commission's programs, operations, facilities, services and relationships to ensure that goals and objectives are being met.
- To provide encouragement, support and work in partnership with city staff to provide a team approach to problem solving.

DeWitt Area Recreation Authority Board of Commissioners (DARA)
The DARA Board of Commissioners consists of six members who act as the governing body of DARA. The Board is comprised of three representatives from the City of DeWitt and three representatives from DeWitt Charter Township. Terms are generally three years.
DARA is responsible for providing recreational and leisure services to the residents of the City of DeWitt and DeWitt Charter Township. They are also responsible for establishing policies and rules governing the various recreational programs sponsored by DARA.

DeWitt Area Emergency Services Authority Board (DAESA)
The DAESA Board consists of six members who act as the governing body of DAESA. The Board is comprised of six members, two from the City of DeWitt, two from Olive Township and two from Riley Township. Terms are for four years.
DAESA is responsible for delivering emergency services (fire and emergency medical services) to the residents of the City of DeWitt and Olive and Riley Townships.

The Building Authority
The Building Authority is responsible for acquiring, furnishing, equipping, owning, improving, enlarging, operating and maintaining a building or buildings, automobile parking lots or structures, recreational facilities and the necessary site or sites thereof. The Building Authority consists of five members and the term for each member is three years
Projects completed by the City's Building Authority include renovations to City Hall in 1985 and improvement to the City's Park system in 1999-2000.

Downtown Development Authority
The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) consists of nine members, some of whom are residents of the DDA district and others who are owners of businesses in the district. The mayor represents the City Council on the DDA. The DDA is responsible for:
- Acting as the planning body for future development in the DDA district.
- Overseeing the expense of funds collected by the Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA) district.
- Developing plans for marketing the downtown and its businesses.

Tree Commission
The Tree Commission consists of six members, one of whom is a member of the City Council. The term of each member is three years. The Commission has the following responsibilities.
- To study, investigate, counsel, develop, administer and annually update a written plan for the care, preservation, pruning, planting, replanting, removal or disposition of trees and shrubs in parks, along streets and in other public areas.
- Make recommendations to the City Council that a registered state forester be engaged as a consultant to assist the Commission in the technical matters of forestry management.

Construction Board of Appeals
The construction board of appeals consists of five members. Each member serves a term of five years. Each member shall be a person who is qualified by professional designation or work experience and training to make decisions on construction matters.

Southern Clinton County Municipal Utilities Authority (S.C.C.M.U.A)
Board of Commissioners
The S.C.C.M.U.A. Board of Commissioners consists of ten members who act as the governing body of S.C.C.M.U.A. The Board is comprised of the five representatives from DeWitt Charter Township, two representatives each from Bath and Watertown Charter Townships and one representative from the City of DeWitt. Membership on the Board is based on each municipality's ownership in the Clear Water Plant. Each member serves three years.
S.C.C.M.U.A. is responsible for operating and maintaining the Clean Water Plant and the sanitary sewer systems of Bath, DeWitt and Watertown Charter Townships and the City of DeWitt.

DeWitt District Library Board of Trustees
The DeWitt District Library Board of Trustees consists of six persons responsible for operating the DeWitt District Library, which services the City of DeWitt and DeWitt Charter Township. Board Members serve a four-year term. The Board is comprised of three representatives (residents) from the City of DeWitt and three representatives (residents) from DeWitt Charter Township.

Citizen of the Year Committee
The Citizen of the Year Committee is comprised of five residents of the City who are responsible for selecting an individual (not necessarily a City resident) as the Citizen of the Year. The Citizen of the Year is a person who has significantly contributed to the betterment of City either individually or through organizations. |
