Committee Vacancies

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:  If you are a City resident and would like to serve on one of the City’s committees, please submit a letter of interest or complete a Committee Application Form "Application to Serve" and file it with the City Clerk either in-person, by mailing it to City Hall (414 East Main Street, DeWitt, MI 48820); or by e-mailing it to dsmith@dewittmi.org no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010   If you have any questions, please contact City Hall at 669-2441.

 DEWITT MILLENNIUM GARDEN CLUB 

Gardening expert Janet Macunovich will speak on Tuesday, March 16 about “Continuous, Crafty Color” from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm at Redeemer United Methodist Church, 13980 Schavey Road, DeWitt.  She will discuss plant species and varieties, great plant combinations, gardening tricks, and how to achieve long lasting color in gardens.

The DeWitt Millennium Garden Club is sponsoring this event.  Tickets are $5.00, which includes refreshments and door prizes.  Tickets are available from any club member or from Sandy Lockwood (517) 669-7531 and Pat Molitor (517) 669-5654.  Tickets are also available at Twiggy’s in downtown DeWitt and at the door.

Some of Ms. Macunovich’s books will be available for purchase on March 16.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

WHAT:   A FREE community 10–week WALKING PROGRAM and

“Winter Warm-Up with the Blues Community Challenge.”

WHEN:   January 23, 2010 – March 27, 2010

WHERE: “The Lansing Mall” – Saturdays 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

OR through “Winter Warm-Up Satellite Groups.”

SATELLITE GROUPS:

Can’t make it to the Lansing Mall? Groups of 2 or more may establish a “satellite group” which determines a convenient location and time to meet.

NEW COMMUNITY CHALLENGE:

NEW opportunity for winter fun for everyone: a walking

competition for 10 mid-Michigan communities – the top

performing team will win the GRAND prize sponsored by

BCBSM. Join your community team and compete by tracking your walking/physical activity ONLINE during the 10-week Winter Warm-Up.
