         Phone Book & Magazine      

         Recycling      

Residents can recycle their magazines and phone books beginning Monday, June 16th through Friday, June 20th, 2008 at City Hall, 414 E. Main Street. A recycling container will located in the back of the parking lot.

May 17th  10AM to 1:30PM

Take your car to Wacousta at the Watertown Twp. Park next to the township offices & be at DeWitt's Riverside Park to depart @ 10 am. This is approximately a 3 to 3 1/2 hour float.

  • NOTICE TO CUT WEEDS
  • The City of DeWitt Code of Ordinances, Section 70, Article III (Weeds and Grass), states in part, "No person shall permit weeds or grass to reach a height of eight inches on land within the city owned by or under the possession, control or occupancy of such person, including any public right-of-way or easement portion thereof." Unless otherwise excepted by this Article, all weeds and grass standing at the height of eight inches or more are declared to be public nuisances.
  • All weeds and grass of eight inches in height or more, shall be cut. Cutting shall not be accumulated in piles of eight inches or more in height.
  • This notice is to inform all persons of the City's intent to enforce this Article. A person who violates any provision of this article is responsible for a municipal civil infraction, subject to payment of a civil fine with repeat offenses subject to increased fines. Charges for weed or grass cutting shall be a lien upon the premises.
