Meet Mayor James Rundborg |
James Rundborg was elected as Mayor in November 2006 and was sworn to office January 8th 2007. He previously served on City Council, from August 2001 to December 2006 and was Mayor Pro-Tempore in his last 4 year term. Mayor Rundborg works for The Center for Charter Schools at Central Michigan University. He has a Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University and a Master's degree from the University of Kansas. Mayor Rundborg and his wife Sue have two daughters, Alison and Carly.
Mayoral Duties:
- The Mayor serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the City and the official head of the City for ceremonial purposes.
- The Mayor is responsible for directing and supervising all administrative officers, except the City Attorney.
- The Mayor presides at all Council meetings.
- The Mayor has veto power in the case of a tie of the City Council.
