Nominating Petitions Available
Official nominating petitions for Mayor and Council (non-partisan) are available at City Hall for the following elective offices:
Mayor (one position, two year term)
Council (three positions, four year term)
Council (one position, two year term)
Terms for these positions will begin with the first Council Meeting in January 2009.
Qualifications for Office:
According to the City Charter, "Elective officials shall be registered electors of the city, who shall have resided with the city of six months or more, and shall be at least 21 years of age on the date the office is to be filled." It also states, "The election of all city officials as provided in this charter shall be non-partisan."
